"Thurgood Marshall Middle School students and the community bring their voices and creativity together in this project to celebrate diversity and connection. Artist Ryker Black developed the concept and led the work in collaboration with South Sound YMCA and MCC. The piece features a dove as a symbol of love, unity and peace. Each feather is created individually, representing the unique perspectives, voices, and identities of each person. Together these feathers form a vibrant whole, celebrating self acceptance and respect for others."

  • 6/16: Field Day & last day of school!
Thurgood Marshall Middle School has been nominated for Best of South Sound by The Olympian. We already know we have the best middle school around—now let’s make it official!

We’re calling on all students, families, and staff to help showcase the incredible things happening at TMMS. You can cast your vote once per day at VoteSouthSound.com through Friday, May 8th at 5:00 PM.

  • You’re invited to our Summer Resource Fair and Game Night on Thursday, May 14, from 5:30-7:30 PM in the TMMS cafeteria. Come learn about community summer programs and stay for the games and prizes! Refreshments will be served. To help us plan, please via the flyer attached.

  • 6th Grade Season: June 2 – June 13 ($20)

Testing is coming!
Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) testing begins this coming week for our students. Our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will be tested in Math and English, and our 8th graders will also complete the Science (WCAS) assessment.

This is a great chance for our students to show off the hard work they’ve put in all year! To help them stay focused and energized, please ensure they get plenty of sleep and a solid breakfast. Also, please remind your student to bring their fully charged Chromebook to school each day. Let's go, Mustangs!
